About

Hi! Thank you for visiting. My name is Heather and I'm passionate about helping you find your authentic beauty through color. I received my color analyst certification through Christine Scaman's 12 Blueprints Training Program based on the Sci/ART method in 2013. Color analysis is such a fun and fascinating process that has made a difference in my life and how I see myself. I truly believe it's important to present yourself in the best way possible, but even more, to feel good inside your own skin and realize that you are innately beautiful. It seems like discovering what your best colors are could be purely superficial, but by letting your inner beauty present itself on the outside as well, people will see and respond positively to that, including yourself. Over and over again, I see that finding one's colors only magnifies and enhances each individual's authentic beauty. As cliche as it sounds, you are worth it. I would be so honored to help you in this process! To learn more about me and my story, please read on.

I'm married with two kids that keep me on my toes. Since becoming a mom, I've previously worked part-time in a bridal boutique and also started a small business doing wedding flowers.

I've discovered that I love seeing end results. A beautiful bride in her final gown choice or a finished arrangement full of harmonious floral beauty. It makes the process to get there so worth it! This same thing happens with a personal color analysis. When we get to the end of the draping and discover which season brings your natural beauty to its fullest, it's that same feeling as admiring that gorgeous bridal bouquet. All the elements have come together to create something that feels almost magical.

My first experience with color analysis was in high school. I was draped as a Summer in the 4-season system during a fashion-related class. The colors I received in my swatchbook seemed too limited so I dismissed it at the time. I came across color analysis again in 2011 and saw that there were now eight additional seasons for those with neutral undertones. This seemed smart and I found myself continuously thinking about the concept.

A year or so later, I came across the 12 Blueprints blog and after reading a few of the posts I was hooked and couldn't get enough! I became mildly-obsessed with all things color analysis and learned as much as I could from the online format. I researched the different systems, but kept coming back to Sci/Art. It seemed to be practical, upheld certain standards, and the science behind it was reaffirming of the process to me. I obtained Kathryn Kalisz's book and knew this was something I wanted to be a part of. I needed to see it for myself though. Luckily, I found that an analyst would be coming to a city near me and was able to book an appointment. I discovered that I was a Light Summer and I saw that the process did indeed work. I was able to spend more time with the analyst that day to experience others' drapings, which left me excited for more.

I attended Christine's 12 Blueprints course and became certified in May 2013. It was an excellent learning experience. I'm thrilled to be able to analyze people to help them discover the difference and beauty that the right colors can make, both physically and emotionally. Christine put it so well when she wrote, "Most importantly, I want to empower you. I want for you to know yourself better, to recognize someone who's been hiding inside, waiting to get noticed. I want you to be a smarter, tougher consumer. I want you to learn how good it feels to finally settle into your own skin and see what a perfect fit it has always been."

A little more background info, I have a Bachelor's degree in Business with a minor in Fashion Merchandising. I have always loved color, makeup, and clothing. I remember my favorite and most requested items from childhood were play makeup kits and nail polish and my answer to "what do you want to be when you grow up?" was always "a fashion designer" (and I have the sketchbook to prove it). I'm also a bit of a shopaholic. Becoming a color analyst has been the perfect culmination for so many of my interests and I'm truly grateful each day for having this opportunity and doing something I love.
